Owl Cookies for Adorable Abigail

My little granddaughter is going to be a big sister any day now. My daughter, Mellissa, is ready to POP! It's very exciting! While I had so much fun making the Elf On A Shelf cookies last weekend, I decided that I needed (yes NEEDED) to make some wintery owl cookies. You'll see why it was a necessity at the bottom of this post.

So I would like you to meet Olivia the Owl with Winter Hat & Scarf. Cookie cutter available HERE
I started with an outline of the design. You could simplify by just having the scarf be one color and maybe add some fun sanding sugar, but I decided to go with a multi-colored scarf. You can download the tutorial cards in the link at the beginning of this post highlighted in yellow.
Then I filled in all the sections. I would recommend simplifying with just a few colors. I cleaned all the 16 decorating tips, bags, couplers and tip covers last night and wished I had just used a few colors instead ;-)

and then I made several of the wintery owls
and then used the various colors as the base color of the owl too
and bagged them up with a cute owl cookie tag. You can download and personalize your own owl cookie tags by clicking here
I just love these wintery owls. I'm so excited for Christmas and making wintery cookies is so much fun!
Now do you see I MUST make an owl cookie cutter? I bought this adorable dress for little Abigail and really wanted some cookies to match. The dress is 24-month size and she's basically swimming in it, but still adorable.
I rode my bicycle on Saturday for 64-miles just to see this little angel. I'm so blessed to have her love and her mommy's love too.
I have some more Christmas/winter cookies that I'm hoping to make tonight too. So many fun ideas swirling around in my head!
