I had a customer ask for wedding cake cookies. I didn't know her, but she was referred from a good customer so I fit her into my cookie schedule. Here's where it got interesting. She showed up to pick up her cookies and told me that she was a Bellarmine mom too. I said Wow! What a coincidence. But wait... then she said that she is also a University of Portland mom! What?! How do I not know this woman? I love little reminders that it really is a small world after all.
She asked me to make wedding cake cookies. So I started by making a 4-tier wedding cake cookie cutter. You can get one here in my Etsy shop.
Then I baked a bunch of large wedding cake cookies
I was excited to make just ONE icing color. The funny thing is that I didn't realize that I would be making 7 batches of that one icing color. I was getting a little sick of white and white and white... but I loved the lines, squirly and dots to decorate the pretty wedding cake cookies.
After I flooded the cookies and let them dry, I added some royal icing flowers for decoration. It took A LOT of flowers and about 2am, I realized that I didn't have enough and needed to add some white flowers too. I love how they turned out.
Lots of wedding cake cookies
and then I bagged them all up with a pretty personalized tag
It was fun to meet a fellow Bell & UP mom!
