Bridal Shower Cookies

A friend of mine asked me to make bridal shower cookies in the colors of David's Bridal Persimmon & Marine. I thought the persimmon color was going to be difficult, but it turned out to be a reddish orange and not too difficult. The marine color however took about 4 different shades of blues to get just right. I had to go to the David' Bridal site several times to get my colors just right.
Wedding dresses with added white sanding sugar and pearl candies on the dress
Engagement rings. I somehow forgot to use my small little circle to cut out the middle of the rings before baking these. I was surprised to have made that mistake, so I colored some flesh colored icing for the middle and that worked fine. I added disco dust to make the diamond part of the cookie sparkle and I painted on silver luster dust to the ring portion for that to sparkle silvery.
Wedding presents in their colors of persimmon and marine. I added white sanding sugar to the bow.
Flowers also in their colors of persimmon and marine. I added orange sanding sugar to the middle of the flower.
and I made this special "i do" cookie for them with marine colored dots around the edges.
The bridal shower was this past Saturday and I'm sure they had a great time. I had fun catching up with my friends Sarah & Scott!

And on a side note, a very good friend of mine, who I adore, asked me if I happened to have any wedding cookies in my freezer, which of course I don't, but since I was working on these bridal shower cookies anyway and I happened to make a couple extras, I stole 2 of them to make them proposal cookies for my friend. I heard from him this morning and ...
SHE SAID YES!

  2. Wonderful job on colour matching on the shower cookies and a great *safe* for the center of the engagement rings! So sweet that your cookies were part of a memorable moment for the newly engaged couple.
