I had a different post planned for today, but after what happened yesterday, I felt compelled to share angels with you. You'll see why in a minute.
I made these angel cookies for Christmas
A few months ago I saw a park ranger on the Coyote Creek Trail. I got off my bike and stopped him. I proceeded to tell him how 2-3 days a week I would ride on the Coyote trail from San Jose to Morgan Hill and when I arrived in Morgan Hill, I would call my dad and every single time he would drop everything and come and meet me at the park bench at the end of the trail. We would sit and chat and enjoy time together for a short bit and then I would get back on my bike and ride back to San Jose. After my dad died, the park bench disappeared. Before I could say anything else, the Park Ranger said: "I will do absolutely everything in my power to bring back the park bench". For a couple months I rode out there several times a week. No bench. Today it was there. In the same spot that my dad and I sat together so often. I stopped my bike and just stood there and cried. Thank you Mr. Park Ranger. It means more to me than you can imagine.
and the very kind comments from my friends:
I feel the angels around me and I hope you do too.
Angels blog background for today:
Awwwww! Tears! That's so sweet Cristin, I'm so glad you got the park bench back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful way to have your year start off Cristin! Thanks to the good heart of that Park Ranger, you can now sit and *visit* once again with your Dad during the break in your rides. I'm sure your Dad will be waiting for you each time and no need for a phone call. Angels know just when we need them :)
