Play Zoombinis and Cookies Too

Have you ever tried to get just the right pizza made for Arno only to have him tell you "Something on there I just don't like!" Or have you tried to find someone that matched a Fleen? No, I haven't gone crazy and you know this if you played the game Zoombinis way back when. The logic based game was made in 1996 and my son and I played it all the time when he was growing up. But when we got new computers, the game stopped working. Sad face! For lots of years, Zoombinis fans begged and pleaded for the game to be re-made. I was one of those fans that held out hope. Well, finally a Kickstarter was created to raise funds to have the game re-created. Along with thousands of other Zoombini fans, I donated toward the Kickstarter program. The new Zoombinis game was developed by TERC which is a not-for-profit company in education. They also worked with FableVision and the Learning Games Network at MIT. We waited in anticipation and the game was finally re-released! I got a free game app from donating to the Kickstarter and I bought one for my son Nick and one his girlfriend and one for my daughter too. So this past month while Nick was home from college, we all played Zoombinis. Well a better description would be that we challenged each other in Zoombinis! We had a race to see who would get all 400 Zoombinis saved. Who won? Well first I'll show you some cookies...

I started by making myself a Zoombinis cookie cutter

I had way too much fun making Zoombinis cookies

This is the Zoombinis icon:

You can get the Zoombinis game on the App store HERE. I promise that you'll love it! and you'll have to let me know what you think of Arno and his desire for just the right pizza!

If you check out the game, you'll have to let me know what you think. It's one of our favorites! Oh and yes, I won. Mellissa got to the hardest levels fastest and she even let my little 3-year old granddaughter play the game! I didn't get to see it, but I hear that Abigail liked the game a lot, but the Allergic Cliffs scared her. Liann was busy with school and work and didn't play very often. Nick played more whenever I started to inch ahead of his stats. But in the end, I finished first. Nick still has some Zoombinis to save and my 400 are safely on the island. Ha!
