Several years ago, before I got my bicycle, I used to hike the hill near my house. It is about 7 miles long and really steep. I went to the podiatrist one time and the doctor took one look at my black toes and she said "you hike the SCV hill". I guess the blackened toes was a common issue for those that hike this hill. I rarely hike anymore as I prefer to be on my bike, but a good friend of mine loves to hike and she goes to many different and interesting places. She invited me to come along, so I made her some fun hiking boot cookies. I added in chocolate candy rocks to the bag with the hiking boot on top. I loved how they turned out!

Notice that I outlined a jagged edge to the bottom of the hiking boot. This is optional of course, but I thought it made it look like a real hiking boot.
I found these chocolate rock candies at a few stores and they gave such a realistic look for hiking
Cookies bagged up with the "rocks". How fun!
The trail my friend, Susan, took me to ended up being a place that I've ridden my bike up. But I never knew that back behind the spot we normally stop at, has some hiking trails that go up into beautiful areas! I had so much fun!
