Last of the Christmas Cookies

We're finally winding down on cookies and getting them all posted around here. There were A LOT of cookies! Here's a variety of the last few that I made for my family.

My step-father is a train enthusiast. My mom says he "plays trains", but he doesn't like that verbage, so we'll call him a train enthusiast :-) I made these specifically from him with lots of fun colors.
I made lots and lots of hats, mittens, scarves, wintery cookies and I wanted to try out a little "extra". I took my stocking cap (I have it in regular size and a larger one too and a small one that I never use) so I used the medium size and used a circle cutter to add a face to her cap. I thought she was lots of fun and I gave her to my mail lady.
I also made a few candy canes with lots of stripes and colors.
I love this present cutter from Old River Road on Amazon. I use it all the time for every event (birthdays, baby showers, christmas, whatever). I added stripes for Christmas.
For some reason it took me a long time to figure out how to make these. I've seen people do them lots, but I didn't know how. One night in the middle of the night, it occurred to me. Simple. Duh! Draw horizontal and vertical lines with your icing and then drag a toothpick through in a circular motion. Wa-la! I'm now super in love with these and will be making them often :-)
I made lots of Christmas trees this season, but I didn't venture out much on a different design. So when I made one just to play with, I made it special with MY colors :-)
Another present with a candy cane looking top gift section.
Another candy cane with the colors switched up. I think this one was my favorite.
My cookier friend, Giselle, of Baking In Heels made a cute Santa corset and I was inspired by her design and made my own. Hubby got this one ;-)
I had to back off from tutorials during the holidays as I was much too busy, but I'm excited to get back to them very soon. I have a couple more posts of cookies first then onto new and exciting things starting off with organization!
Happy New Year everyone! Oh and if you haven't already, make sure to join in the fun Cookie Challenge! I want to see your favorite cookie of 2011. You can post it on my wall in Facebook or email it directly to me and I'll post it for you. I still haven't decided on my own favorite cookies of 2011. Suggestions? What do you think? If you haven't seen it yet, here's every cookie I made in 2011! Which one should I choose?

  1. Another wonderful selection (the trains are cute and I love the candy cookies). I know you love your snowglobes, polar bears etc., but going through everything you did last year, I would have to choose your daughter's wedding cookies and your son's eagle scout cookies as my favourites.

  2. @Paula Yes, Paula, you're right. For sentimental reasons, those are the best!
