What Are You Thankful For?

I have so much to be thankful for. So very much. My first granddaughter was born almost 4 months ago. I just got back from the airport to pick up my son from college to visit for family time during Thanksgiving. My daughter comes to my house almost every day and shares in the cookie decorating obsession with me. My step-daughter and I have a loving and wonderful relationship together. I have a good man for a husband and family that loves me and friends that are always there for me. Lots to be thankful for. What about you? What are you thankful for?

I made a whole bunch of Thanksgiving cookies. I didn't think I would have time to make any because I've been working super hard on a project, but I can't imagine showing up at a family holiday without cookies. Most people would just make a few turkeys or leaves and be done with it. But we already know that I'm not a normal person. I do most things to the extreme. So I stayed up til 3am two nights in a row and made 60 Thanksgiving cookies in 21 designs and I made myself 8 new cookie cutters too!

I made some cute little Indian girls. I'm so in love with this one. I see changes that I will do next time in decorating her, but I still love her anyway.
and Indian boys
Pilgrim girls
and Pilgrim boys
Pilgrim and the Mrs.
and fun turkeys with a pilgrim hat
 Eat Ham
a tree just for my mom. I think she'll really like this
and one lonely little pilgrim owl. I thought of my friend Heather when I made this
and then more turkeys (these were made from a seashell cookie cutter)
and you know, more turkeys
and of course, more turkeys
and even more turkeys
and then sorry turkeys, but... a turkey dinner
and turkey drumsticks
some yummy corn and maize
and then we move onto dessert and have pies
and more pies
and an apple because you know, it's the Fall.
We can't forget the pilgrim hats - yaa I know they are actually cowboy hats, but I tried
and of course some fall leaves
I didn't get a photo of them all together, but I did get a fun photo of them in my cupboard waiting for Nick to get home and see them
4 of the things that I'm most grateful for: My daughter Mellissa and granddaughter Abigail
My daughter Sarah
and my son Nick (and my Eddie too!)
Okay my kids are home. Life is soooo good. I hope YOU have a wonderful and thankful day too!

and my beautiful friend, Lisa, with her platter of Thanksgiving cookies

Here's the question of the day: I'd love to know which of these Thanksgiving cookies is your favorite and also what you are most thankful for this season.

    1. You're right and I did pull that out to use for Thanksgiving, but I decided that the lip of the "flower pot" was pretty thin for a pilgrim hat, but looking back, I think it would have been better than my cowboy hat! Next year for sure!

  5. Okay. That was me that Cristin stayed up until 3:00 a.m. baking Thanksgiving cookies for! I thought they would make a nice hostess gift for Thanksgiving weekend, but I didn't think of it until Thanksgiving week! Cristin is amazing! Absolutely gorgeous platter of assorted designs. (There's a picture of it above.) The cookies were very well received. I know it's hard to believe, but they taste even better than they look! My favorite is the Indian girl. But I also love the pie slices and the turkey on the platter. Such a thoughtful and nice post, Cristin. Just like you!
