I Moose Tell You Something... Moose Cookie Cutter & Free Printable Tags

Well it's a brand new year! I'm pretty excited about 2015. Did you make any New Year's resolutions? Mine are: Ride my bicycle more, work less, sleep more, eat less. Build more memories soaking up time with my children and grandchildren. That about sums it up for me. I worked til 3am 2 of the last 6 days, so I need to get better with the sleep resolution and I had to say no to a play date with the grandkids on one of the days because I needed to work, but it was a last minute request and I was on a deadline. But other than those, I'm really trying to prioritize. So bring on 2015! I made these fun moose cookies to match my grandson's moose outfit that I got him. I liked them so much, that I've made them a few times already!

Moose blog background for today:

  1. Your moose cookies are almost as cute as your grandson. I believe you are a glaze girl. Do you pipe the design outline in a thicker consistency black glaze, and let it dry before filling in each section?
Thanks so much for sharing!!! Joyce:)

    1. Hi Joyce, You're right that I am a glaze girl :) I do, however, use a Buttercream Icing for my black outlines. I let the outline fully dry before I fill with my glaze icing. My first year in cookie decorating, I only used glaze icing and I oohed and aahed over all the beautiful creations of the royal icing gals. Since glaze lays flat, I wanted something that would stand up a bit for my outlines. So my second year in cookie decorating, I used royal icing for my outline and also for writing. Royal Icing and I never became close buddies, not fully understanding each other, so last year, I made a switch to Buttercream Icing for my outlines and writing and my original glaze icing for the flood and all details. I hope this helps. Feel free to send me an email or message if I can be of further assistance and thank you for your kind comments! Cristin
