Whoooo Likes To Do Crafts With Kids

My daughter has a craft day once a month at her house and invites a bunch of kids from their Las Madres group. The toddlers paint or do foam crafts or seasonal activities and make gifts from crafts. I found a really cute owl made out of foam pieces that the kids peel and stick to put together and then they use a stamp pad to use their fingerprint as accent on the owl for a personal touch. It was so cute that I decided to make cookies to match and bring them to the playdate.

This is Finn the Fall Owl. The kids all thought he was so fun after making a craft project like him. You can get your Finn the Fall Owl cookie cutter HERE

Then I made a mini fall leaf as accent cookies for my cookie platter You can get a mini fall leaf cookie cutter HERE
 Aren't they so cute together!
I made a bunch of the owl cookies for Mellissa's playdate
and I bagged them up with "Whooo enjoys doing Fall crafts? We do! Thanks for coming!" Note: you can download some fall owl cookie tags at the link at the top of the page, highlighted in yellow.
It's fun to do things for kids and the parents always appreciate my cookies. Feels good.

Here is the craft that Abigail and I made

Hubby and I went to babysit Abigail one night and I brought a paint your own cookie. I had never made one of them before, but I figured it would be fun. I started by outlining a simple rectangle cookie.
After the white flood icing fully dried (you can also do it while it's wet, but I wanted lines for Abigail to paint within), then I drew in a caterpillar with black icing and let that fully dry
Then I painted on regular gel icing colors in yellow, green and pink and let that dry.
I showed Abigail to dip her paintbrush (brand new paintbrush for cookies only of course) into a mini cup of water and then dip it into the color block and paint on her cookie.
and a short video clip of Abigail painting her cookie

I'm hoping to squeeze in a bike ride today now that my house is back in order and today's blog post is done. You should go make some owl cookies and share pictures. I can't wait to see them!
