I finally went for a bike ride yesterday. My first bike ride of 2016! I've been so sick and coughing and congestion, it just wasn't safe or manageable to exercise. Yesterday I was just sick of being sick. My body aches from being tight from inactivity. The forecast said that it wouldn't rain until 4:30 or so. Within the first quarter mile, while I was still on my street, it started to rain. I thought about turning back, but it felt so good to get some fresh air for the first time in 2016, so I continued on. By mile 20, it rained on me about 2/3 of the time, but it was a warm rain and there was some cover at points under trees and to cover me from the harsh headwind. It really wasn't bothering me much. At my turn around spot, I found that I had a nice tailwind and it barely rained on me the last 20 miles. I felt good until mile 32. About then my sinus headache returned and every little bump of my tires was making me feel like someone was kicking me in the head. But I made it back and took a hot shower so I could feel my toes again. I feel human again! How is your 2016 going so far? I made these elephant cookies with crowns. I love these.
